  1. If you have any questions about Sweden I would like to answer :)

    August 23, 2012 at 7:33 am

    • Thanks for the offer!
How are Swedes like? What’s their mentality like? :)
It’s a vague question..but feel free to give any information:)
      Thank you!

      • We are pretty boring actually. Well ofc not all of us!;) we are afraid of standing out from the crowd. Or that’s what I think. It’s a bit hard to analys us/myself. And I live in the north of Sweden. It’s not really the same down in Stockholm (I think ). I live about 800kilometers north Of Stockholm. People in the south like to hire us, they think that we’re more reliable, and probably cheaper :) But Sweden is a beautiful country and you should come here and see it for yourself!

        August 23, 2012 at 11:32 pm

      • That’s why I would love to visit Sweden! I feel like it’s such a different mentality from the American way (I mean it positively)
800 km? That’s pretty far.. Do you happen to live by Uppsala?
and how often do you get to go to Stockholm?
I hope to visit that country! With patience of course xD

    • You have already answered many questions of mine:) haha thanks so much!
I have another one..- is Danderyd Gymnasium only for the rich people? Does that school have a snobby reputation?

  3. No uposala is only 70kilometera from Stockholm, I live way up hight in the north :) the town is called Skellefteå, if you world like to look it up :) Well yes, i go to Stockholm pretty often. Maybe not always once a year, But almost every other. Yes i think your right about the mentality. I have traveled a lot but still never been to America. But if you compare us swedes with Englishmen we are very self centred and impolite. Or we are not trying to be rude. But it’s more like a bad habit we have. We don’t say thank you as much as they do, and we don’t excuse us all the time. Now I’m only saying the bad things. I guess that’s because I want to move from Sweden. It’s not that Sweden is a bad contry. I mean we have almost no homelessness, almost no poor people at all. School is free and almost no private schools (which I think is good) and we also have free medical care, you don’t need to rely on having the right incurrence but I hope that your dream of coming to Sweden will fulfill and that like it here! Feel free to then contact me for tips or anything:)

    August 24, 2012 at 8:29 am

    • oh…It must be really cold there. brrrr
Do you enjoy Stockholm a lot?
yeah..well the English are sooo polite that they turn out to be hypocrites. I hate that too.
Thanks so much for your comments!:) I love them haha!

  8. Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my post, who is stopping you? It is wonderful to get the “like” so I know I had a visit. I am half French myself, but my father did not teach me about the language or culture. I guess I will learn from you! :-) Your blog is wonderful and I will be following it. I do hope you will stop by mine again.

    September 4, 2012 at 1:35 pm

    • I definitely be looking for more posts of yours:)
oh! Well, it’ll be my honor to help you learn more about this French culture!
What would you like to know? You might help me write my next post:)

      September 5, 2012 at 5:12 am

      • People always think of France and think of Paris and romance. And I will admit I had a wonderfully romantic trip to Paris many years ago…before kids! I want to know about visiting France and/or Paris with children. Are there dos and don’ts when you bring your kids? Certain places where is is frowned on to bring children? My father was very old-school, children should be seen and not heard, so I never really learned much about this pat of my culture/family.
        Thanks! :-)

        September 6, 2012 at 1:09 am

      • hmm…. well, don’t bring your kids where you know that they will cause a commotion. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about..
but the French are very cool about families with kids. They like them, and don’t feel pressured or anything like that.
They enjoy parents with kids- I think it’s pretty knitted in with French culture.
Often, just couples will go to bars, cinemas…etc… so I don’t recommend taking kids there.
But besides that, the French love kids!:)

    • No problem! :)
Yeah! Are you from Stockholm? I hope t visit that city soon!:)

      September 5, 2012 at 5:13 am

      • No I have travelled to Stockholm occasionally but I come from a small and beautiful city called Örebro. I would recommend visiting there as well.

        September 5, 2012 at 3:55 pm

      • How far is it from Stockholm?:)
        thanks for replying anyways:)
What do you think of Swedish people?

        September 6, 2012 at 5:10 am

      • It takes 2 hours by road to travel to Orebro so its a very short distance away.

        your welcome:)

I think the Swedes are respectable people, ALOT better than the English. From my opinion and personal experience, the Swedes can at times be very direct about their feelings towards you whether that be negative or positive.

All in all, they have been the people that i have respected the most and till this day is why i visit that beautiful country. I hope you enjoy your visit to Sweden.

  16. Hi. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leave a little trail back here. It seems that you are more interested in our Capital in Sweden than Sweden in particular. How come the great interest in our Capital? What makes Stockholm that intriguing? If you’re really interested of us Swedes and our country I think you should look to the surroundings rather than just Stockholm. Stockholm in particular are pretty much as any city in the world. We have a rich culture and a wonderful country. I would really like to help you out with my point of view regarding Sweden if you’d like my help.

    October 9, 2012 at 7:36 am

  17. Ah, yes, we Americans are a brutal lot, or at least our politicians are. We are a country of immigrants who seemingly does not like immigrants. We are a country of prosperity, that is horded by the few. We are a country of freedom, and that freedom has shackled us. We have an opinion on everything, even that which we know nothing about. Most importantly, we are a country of different ideologies and personal agendas, and the only time we really come together as one, is when we are threatened – or perceive to be threatened. We poke fun at you at times, but it’s only because we like you.
And by the way, what do people there think of the two-faced lying Mitt Romney?

  18. Thanks for ‘liking’ my blog, much appreciated. I hope you manage to get to Sweden. The Scandinavian countries have always interested me also, but mainly because of their politics (I know I’m a bore!). If you want to know more about the ‘mind’ of a country look at their politics, they have a social democratic model, you will find it is very different to America. The Swedish are very open and accepting of others and very direct, quite deep thinkers too, but as in any country there are a good and bad things. so don’t expect anywhere to be perfect.

Travel as much as you can in the world, that is the best education for life. Good luck.
